Nonsurgical Treatments to Reverse the Effects of Aging
Ultherapy can turn back the clock on aging by as far as 7-10 years. This procedure involves ultrasound technology to lift loose or sagging skin in areas such as the brows, chin, and neck. It tightens and smooths jowls (lower face folds), erases “turkey neck,” and improves lines and wrinkles on the décolletage.
Ultherapy is a great option for:
- Improving wrinkled, saggy neck or turkey neck
- Looking 10 years younger
- Lifting droopy eyelids
- A non-surgical facelift
Providing the Right Uplift
In contrast to a facelift, consider this treatment as an uplift. Ultherapy tightens the deep foundation of the skin, leaving it firmer and suppler. Unlike radiofrequency treatments, Ultherapy focuses the ultrasound energy on a specific area beneath the surface of the skin. This heats the tissue, causing contraction and tightening of proteins such as elastin and collagen. Eventually, a healing response is initiated, gradually lifting and toning the skin from deep within.
If you want to determine if Ultherapy is right for you, we recommend scheduling a consultation with our nationally prominent dermatologist, Dr. St. Surin-Lord. She will ask you about your goals for treatment, examine the areas you want to address, and review your medical history. If you are a candidate for Ultherapy, we will tailor a treatment plan to meet your individual needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Dr. St. Surin-Lord is experienced and knowledgeable about Ultherapy and other non-surgical treatments for fine lines, wrinkles, and aging. We are also experts when it comes to different skin tones, types, and colors. This is why we are proud to present this simple FAQ page to help you understand Ultherapy better and determine if this is the right treatment plan for you.
Who is a candidate for Ultherapy?
A good candidate has mild to moderate skin laxity. If a person has a lowered eyebrow line, sagging under the chin, loose skin on the neck, or wrinkles on the chest, he or she is a good candidate for this treatment. When you schedule a consultation with Dr. St. Surin-Lord, she will determine if Ultherapy is optimal for you. At Visage Dermatology and Aesthetic Center, you have the choice of turning the aging process back by ten to 20 years when you add Botox and Juvederm or Restytlane to your Ultherapy treatment. With a combination of customized procedures, you can see results even with severe skin laxity. This makes our practice truly a “one-stop shop.”
How long does a treatment session last?
The length of treatment depends on your individual needs. However, brow treatment is only 30 minutes and a chest treatment lasts about 60 to 90 minutes.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
No downtime is required, allowing you to resume normal activities or return to work immediately after your appointment.
When will I see results from Ultherapy?
Over 3-6 months, results will gradually appear. Results include lifting, firming, and tightening of the skin—like a facelift but without the surgery, downtime, or scars. As collagen continues to build, further improvements appear up to 12 months following the procedure.
What makes Ultherapy stand out from other treatments?
Ultherapy is the only non-invasive treatment that targets the deep foundations below the skin, an area typically treated surgically. Ultrasound imaging allows our team to see the layers of tissue being targeted to ensure energy is deposited where it will be most effective on the face, neck, chest, and other areas of the body with sagging skin (such as above the knees).
